Nippu Movie Review

Movie Rating :2/5

INTRO:
Opportune time really matters in the tinsel town – for a film to mint money for its makers or an actor to make it big or a combination to work out really well. In the case of Nippu, it took several years for three buddies to come together, professionally though.

After carving a niche for themselves individually over the years, Ravi Teja, Gunasekhar and YVS Chowdary are now working for a film for the first time-ever and have obviously caught the fancy of the public besides surging the expectations on the end result, the review of which goes this way… check out if or not the actor helps his friends overcome the mess in their careers…
PERFORMANCES:
The mass maharaj is quite spirited in his role (as Surya) like his previous films. He is equippedwith every other component required for a soulful performance that he has been delivering since his foray into acting. Even so, he appears regular and routine, probably because we’re used to his peculiar gesticulations, modulations in dialogues and hysterics. He also seems to have been wasted on many occasions.
Deeksha Seth is super hot and showed improvement as an actress. She puts up a matured, reasonable and glamorous show. Rajendra Prasad is too good, while Sriram as Ravi Teja’s crony is inspiring and Bhavana is impressive. Brahmanandam, Krishnudu, Dharmavarapu, Supreet, Brahmaji, Pradeep Rawat and Jayaprakash Reddy arehilarious. Master Bharat slims down and takes us by surprise in his toned body. All the actors are satisfactory but not used to the fullest, for some reasons.
TECHNICAL ANALYSIS:
Sarvesh Murari renders us speechless with his cinematography, which of coursecomes as a qualitative feature forthe flick. All the musical compositions are shot superbly. The fights bear the mark of Gunasekhar – gruesome, violent and powerful.
Thaman’s music is not up to the mark, especially when expectations sky-rocketed post-Dookudu and Businessman. Background was pretty decent and helped lifting the plot. Story is decent, especially the point that the act revolves around. Narration is nothing special and screenplay is unimposing. Dialogues are mediocre and direction is average.
PLUS-POINTS:
Cinematography
Re-recording
Comedy in parts
Second hour on few occasions
Certain dialogues in second-half
Basic point of the film
The way the death sentence is executed in Saudi
MINUS-POINTS:
First-half
Confused narration
Lack of the necessary dose of comic ingredients
Serious point handled in humorous way
Screenplay
VERDICT:
The movie starts off with a fight where a goon each hails from Andhra, Telangana and Rayalaseema regions. It has become a fad amongst the makers these days to include an element on Telangana in their works, which is unwanted for. They really don’t need to publicize their stand on the issue through films and every time; rather prefer to come out in open.
Moving on to the next, it’s known that Ravi, YVS and Gunasekhar were roommates at the beginning of their career in movies and really sweated to be what and where they are today. This is the very first time they are working together in these years and claimed to have put in their hard work for Nippu. However, all their efforts have gone fruitless.
There ample reasons to substantiate my comment. The first-half is mystifying and emotions are off-putting. The very forte of the mass maharaj – comedy is disheartening in the flick and so many comedians are taken on board unnecessarily.
The underlying theme of the movie is inspiring but the way it’sdealt with is dispiriting. Narration, treatment and presentation of the storyline are objectionable.
The first half-hour in the second act is interesting, but in vain since the situation commanded seriousness and intensity rather than comic sense. Even regulars would scratch their heads as to why the director is demonstrating the circumstancesthe certain way.
Nowhere the film has gripping moments and such scripts truly need lot of conviction to represent on screen. A good and experienced director like Gunasekhar is supposed to offer more than Nippu.
Few incidents in Saudi Arabia are shown well, especially crime in the country, and all songs are picturized visually. In all, second-hour is passable, but the combination of Ravi Teja, Gunasekhar and YVS foils the play by thwarting our hopes, beliefs and thrill. The latter two have to go through the bad patchsince mass maharaj doesn’t come to the aid of his pals.
MY WORD:
The awesome threesome of NIPPU is not up to scratch!
