Talaash Movie Review - A Flim Should not be missed

Movie Rating : 4/5
Director : Reema Kagti
Producer : Ritesh Sidhwani, Aamir Khan, Farhan Akhtar
Music Director : Ram Sampath
Starring: Aamir Khan, Rani Mukerji, Kareena Kapoor
Perfectionist Aamir Khan, who is known to do spell binding films is back with his latest offering Talaash. This time he plays a cop in this muchawaited thriller. Also starring Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee,Talaash is directed by Reema Kagti. Actually scheduled to release early this year, Talaash was postponed because of Aamir’s TV show Satyamev Jayate. But now, after all the hype and hysteria the movie has finally hit the screens. Lets see how it is.
Story :
On the famous Sea face road in Mumbai, a mysterious and surprisingcar accident takes place in which film star Armaan Kapoor is killed. This is not the first time that accidents like this have happened onthis road in a similar fashion. To solve this mysterious case, Surjan Singh Shekhawat(Aamir Khan) is appointed to look into the matter. After many days of investigation, Shekhawat is still clueless about the accidents.
This is also the time time when he and his wife Roshni(Rani Mukherjee)are trying to recover from the death of their eight year old son. The personal tragedy in the family creates some differences between the couple. Things start getting worse. In these circumstances, Shekawat becomes close to Rosy(Kareena Kapoor) , who is involved in the accident that kills Armaan Kapoor .
Rest of the story is about how Shekawat solves the whole mystery of these car accidents.
Plus Points :
It is a known fact that when Aamir Khan approves a script, it is bound tohave something special in it and he proves it with this film too. The story itself is a huge asset and very seldom, one comes across a script where you have suspense, drama, emotion and sentiment mixed together. Talaash has a very intriguing story line, which will make you stick to your seats till the last minute.
Amir Khan gives a mind blowing performance in this movie. His role demands many subtle variations andAamir delivers them with ease. He carries the whole film on his shoulders and is spectacular in emotional scenes.
Rani as Aamir’s wife is stunning and portrays the character of a troubled house wife, with lot of ease and magnanimity. Her De-glamorized look and body language compliments Aamir’s performance well. Kareena in the role of prostitute, plays her part well and is the key element for the entire film.
Nawazuddin Siddique once again impresses in the role of Tehmur. Interval block and first half of the film are highly gripping. Suspense elements, songs and all the emotion and sentiment will stay with you, even after you come out of the theater.
Minus Points :
For casual movie goers, the film can get confusing. There won’t be any repeat value in the film due to the nature of the plot. Once the twist is revealed, the movie will not be as much fun.
Technical Aspects :
Talaash has a gripping screenplay and Zoya AKhta manages to keep the suspense alive through the movie. The camerawork effectively shows the darker side of Mumbai and the entire night life associated with it.
Reema Kagti has done a good job and has extracted nice performance for all her stars. Her style of story telling, characterization and the motto behind every charter is shown cleverly in Talaash. She creates perfect situations and the whole nuances of mistaken identities and certain atmosphere which every thriller needs to have.
What makes this movie more gripping is its back ground score, which manages a create feel of doubt and thrill.
Verdict :
On the whole, Talaash is entertaining from start to finish. Terrific story, good performances and a high does of suspense and emotions makes Talaash for an intriguing watch, and is a film whichshould not be missed. What are you waiting for? Go book your tickets and search for the answer yourself.

Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum Movie Review : A must watch flim

Movie Rating : 3.5/5
Director : Krish
Producer : Saibabu Jagarlamudi, Y Rajeev Reddy
Music Director : Mani Sharma
Starring : Rana Daggubati, Nayantara, Brahmanandam
Rana Daggubati and Krish Jagarlamudi have teamed up for the highly anticipated ‘Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum’ and the movie is all set to hit the screens worldwide on November 30th. We have been to an exclusive preview in Ramanaidu Labs and we are bringing you the first and exclusive review of ‘Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum’ for you folks. Read on to see how the movie is.
Story :
B,Tech Babu (Rana) is the grandson of Subrahmanyam (Kota Srinivasa Rao), a legendary theater actor of the famous Surabhi group. B.Tech Babu has no intention of continuing as a languishing actor and instead, he makes his plans to head to the United States. This deeply upsets Subrahmanyam, who requests him to perform one last drama titled ‘Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum’ at theBellary Natakotsavam.
Meanwhile, it is daylight robbery that is the norm in Bellary. A powerful mining mafia uses a heady mixture of money, fear and politics to keep the town in its iron grip. Theentire operation is in the control of Reddappa (Milind Gunaji), who terrorizes local people and illegally destroys thousands of acres of lush green forests to feed his hunger for money. Devika (Nayanatara) is a documentary filmmaker who tries to bring these atrocities to light.
As a reluctant B.Tech Babu heads to Bellary, he discovers that he has a past in this town. He also shares a connection with Reddappa and his sworn enemy Chakravarthy (Murali Sharma). B. Tech Babu realises that he has an obligation to fulfill and a responsibility to shoulder.
What is that responsibility? What connection does he share with Reddappa and Chakravarthy? That forms the story of ‘Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum’.
Plus Points:
Venkatesh makes a very entertaining cameo appearance in the ‘Sayyandri Nanu’ song. Take a bow Rana Daggubati, for you have turned in one of the finest performances I have seen in recent times. Rana is simply outstanding in the film and two specific episodes stand out – The interval bang and the climax episode. Krish has been saying all along that Rana will be a revelation in the movie and it is easyto understand why he said that afterwatching the film. Rana is a perfect fit for this role, both in terms of body language and performance.
Nayanatara looks good in the movie and supports Rana well. Posani Krishna Murali has a very well written role in the movie and he impresses as Tippu Sultan. Milind Gunaji is alright as the evil mining Don Reddappa.
L.B.Sriram takes the cake with a terrific performance as the tribal Matti Raju. Brahmanandam and Raghu Babu are good.
The movie’s interval bang and climax episodes stand out for their sheer intensity and writing. Mani Sharma’s background score elevates the film to a new level here. The film’s pace is very good in the second half and Krish has succeeded in coming up with an arresting narrative. By giving Rana a strong motive of revenge for the atrocity committed against Raghu Babu, Krish has given credibility to Rana’s anger.
Dialogues are outstanding and they have deep philosophical impact. “Thalli Navamasaalu Mosi Kanindi anukunte Manishivi. Adhe thalli, nee thandri pakkana 10 nimishalu sukhapadithe puttavu anukunte Mruganivi”, is a sample. The twist in the second half, where the identitiesof Chakravarthy and Reddappa are revealed, is excellent.
Action sequences have been choreographed very well. The short and crisp runtime of the movie is a major bonus.
Minus Points :
The movie has a few drama sequences in the first moments of the film and they may be tough for mass entertainment loving crowds to appreciate. Pace is also slightly slow here.
Placement of two songs, ‘Spicy Spicy girl’ and ‘Chal Chal Chal’ could have been better. In fact, they could have been avoided altogether as they do nothing for the movie’s progress.
In the pre climax episode, Reddappa’s villains are overpowereda bit easily and a bit more struggle here would have helped. Nayanatara’s makeup should have been better.
Technical Aspects :
Mani Sharma’s music and background score are major assets for the movie. Especially in action sequences and emotional scenes, thebackground score works wonders. Dialogues are outstanding like I said before and Editing is neat.
Action sequences have been composed neatly. Krish has attempted to bring more mainstream masala elements into his film this time and he largely succeeds. The master story teller in him is intact and that is one reason why this movie works big time.
Verdict :
‘Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum’ is a riveting entertainer, one of those rare films where entertainment and thought provoking narration exist together. A brilliant performance from Rana, an emotionally charged plot and a crisp run time are major plus points for this movie. Songs however could have been placed better. Don’t be fooled by the slow start to the film. More importantly, don’t miss a chance to catch ‘Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum’ this weekend.
Movie Rating – 3.5/ 5
