RTC-Guntur to operate 750 buses for Maha Sivaratri

The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation will operate 750 buses in Guntur Zone for the ‘Maha Sivaratri’ festival to be celebrated on February 20.

RTC Guntur Zone Regional Manager P V Rama Rao stated that the corporation would run the buses to the Shiva temples in Panakalaswamy temple,Kottapakonda, Sri Durga Malleswara Swamivarla Devastanam, Srisailam, Neeladrikonda, Chatrasala, Amaravathi and Govada from Guntur district. He said that about 80 buses would be operated to Srisailam and equal number of buses would be run to Vijayawada Kakakadurga Ammavari temple.
Rama Rao said that the RTC would run 550 buses to Kottappakonda, 120buses from Chilakaluripeta and 140 buses from Narsaraopeta. He said that the buses would be operated from February 18 wee hours to February 20 Midnight. Among 750 buses, he said the RTC added 100 new buses to the fleet.
Apart from Information and Help Centres, he said the RTC has established six temporary bus shelters to the convenience of pilgrims. He appealed to passengers to book their tickets in advance at information centers and at online reservation counters. (INN)
