Cong asks AP CM to move into course correction mod


Hyderabad: The Congress high command has put Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on a “course-correction” mode.
The high command is said to have gone into the complaints against the Chief Minister overhis style of functioning and the disarray not only in the Congress party but also the state government” party sources said.
“Based on inputs provided by AICC general secretary, in charge of AP affairs, Ghulam Nabi Azad, after the first meeting of the party-government co-ordination committee here last week, the Congress? central leadership is said to have asked Kiran Kumar to carry everyone alongensure smooth functioning of the government and the party,the sources said.
A number of state leaders, including some ministers and MLAs, complained to Ghulam Nabi Azad during his visit here on January 5 that the Chief Minister was not taking anyone into confidence on any matter and acting in a unilateral manner, the sourcessaid.
In fact, the sources said, at theCoordination Committee meeting, Deputy Chief MinisterDamodar Rajanarsimha posed anumber of questions to the Chief Minister, surprising others.
Political observers believe thatthe impending by-elections to seven assembly seats, includingsix in Telangana region, will be a test for Kiran Kumar’s leadership.
