Story:
Sanjay Gadhavi’s Ajab Gazabb Love - Produced by Vashu Bhagnani, and starring the producer’s son Jackky Bhagnani as the lead actor. Rajveer Garewal (Jackky Bhagnani) is an Automobile Engineer who loves Cars.He is the Son of multimillionaire businessman, Yashwardhan Garewal(Darshan jariwala). Rajveer falls in love with Madhuri (Nidhi Subbaiah), who hates rich people and loves the poor people.. But coming from the richest family, his love becomes complicated as Madhuri doesn't like.Rajveer followed by his attempts to make his whole family poor in order to win Madhuri’s heart. But it’s the treatment out here which makes it interesting and enjoyable. There are some enjoyable moments like Jackky Bhagnani meet with Nidhi followed by the whole Petrol Pump scene, Jackky Bhagnani making his family poor, Kiron Kher’s dramatic welcome, The whole family meetingArshad Warsi, Darshan Jariwal sellingBananas and few more. Arjun Rampal, who is now seen everywhere has acted superbly. What happens finally? You will find in theatres…
Analysis:
Ajab Gazab Love is a movie not based around a story, but around its Jackky Bhagnani, who is also the sonof the producer. So it’s Jackky that you see everywhere, wherever the camera turns to. He is dancing, doingair freezes once too often and mostly hamming his way through the story. The film has very few strong points – you can count them on your fingers. Kirron Kher as the mother does manage to draw a few chuckles as she acts as the poor blindmother. As is Arshad Warsi’s where he plays a servant pretending to be the boss. The rest of film is made up of jokes that are sad, over acted and at times outright offensive to the poor.
Performances:
Jackky Bhagnani does a decent job. Nidhi Subbaiah looks cute.Arjun Rampal in a double role is a surprise and again I feel the makers should’ve utilized these characters ina big way rather than using them forstar-attraction. The movie belongs to Darshan Jariwal and Kirron Kher who are superb throughout. It’s because of their performances that one stays more-or-less entertained throughout the film without any so-called dull moment. Arshad Warsi in a small role is hilarious, wished there were more moments. Rest all were just about okay.
Technalities:
Story of the film is predictable with no big surprise. But the film has good comedy. Music by Sajid-Wajid is one of the Best parts of the film. Sanjay Gadhvi has made stylish films such as ‘Dhoom’, ‘Dhoom 2’ and ‘Kidnap’ in the past. His films show the actors in glamorous avatars and thus Jackky will be flaunting his six pack in ‘Ajab Gazabb Love’. The production quality is cheap. The editing is bad. Camera work is good
