Story:
Emraan Hashmi ’s Rush Movie directed by Late Shamin Desai and completed by his wife Priyanka. Emraan Hashmi as the Crime Reportertrying to mark a strong for himself is fine and is the best of the lot, some good dialogues guaranteed and a couple of kisses too. Neha Dhupia as Lisa, the other woman, is suave and sensual at parts, and comes up with adecent outing. Sagarika Ghatge after a long gap is seen on screen once again. She is all dolled up and looks pretty but her acting skills are a bit unpolished. Perhaps, there wasn’t much to do anyway.
Aditya Pancholi as Roger Khanna, trying to be a tough tycoon comes upas the dullest of them all. He is unconvincing at parts. The film doesn’t quite have the budgets to showcase the editor’s high life. So I guess he parties in Goa, instead of the Bahamas, and his super-rich boss, the TV channel’s owner (Aditya Pancholi), can go only as far as Kuala Lumpur. But this popular journalist ofours has a following and fame that is no less than a film hero’s. He endorses products, shoots for an ad campaign for breakfast cereals, and his private life makes for daily gossip.
The film could seriously work as a bleak view into a disturbingly scary, fictionalized future. Except, it’s set in the present, and in the present, as weknow, there are about 800 TV channels in India, of which a majorityare news stations, none of which make big bucks, if they make any profits at all. But we’ll let that be. TheTV channel owner here believes in grabbing eye-balls, and he can go to any extent to up the ratings. The “editor-in-charge” sahib has fallen into a trap.
There’s no such thing as free lunch. He must pay for his fat salary, as did his predecessors. When the film eventually reveals the dangerous practices employed by his TV station, you may wish to laugh. But you don’t. Because this is an Emraan Hashmi flick. No one walked into the theatre looking for a story.
Analysis:
Rush Hindi Thriller Movie - Coming into view that Priyanka Desai finished the work left half done by Late Shamin Desai; the direction is ‘okay’. Film lacks though is an background score and the intensity. It turns out to be with a dull screenplay. There’s a point in the firsthalf where you have 2 back to back songs packed in a gap of 10 minutes, with Hashmi romancing a lady apiece! Goodness gracious! To add to this, there are dialogues and too much of it. The cinematography though is a thing to talk about and inone of the songs you would wish how a paints manufacturer would have benefited if there was an in – film advertising done!
Performances:
Emraan Hashmi always does a decentjob. He is especially good in the last 15 minutes. Aditya Pancholi is good in his small role. Neha Dhupia as Emraan girlfriend decent job. Aditya Pancholi’s role does not have much scope to perform.
Technalities:
Rush is good in music aspect.Emraan Hasmi has super hit music in all his films. Pritam’s music is really good, and is the only relief in the movie. Camera work for the songs is good.Dialogues are just about ok. Shamin Desai’s screen play is big letdown, Rush does not have those gripping moments which is expectedof a thriller. His story idea is good, but the execution lacks focus. He builds up a huge curiosity, but ends itwith an irrelevant and unjustifiable ending. Simple ending.
Final Word: Watch it ‘only’ if you are an Emraan Hashmi fan
